Freshmen:
- Everyone who is starting this year with you, entering into a new school and meeting new people, is just as nervous as you; remember that.
- Keep your priorities straight; your grades are important. How you do now reflects on what the rest of your high school career. Start off well.
- Each semester you start with a 4.0 or 5.0 depending on where you're from; try to keep it that way as best as possible.
- Don't be afraid to make new friends and befriend the teachers.
- Don't stop in the middle of hallways, please move to the side if you want to talk to your friends
- Join clubs and any activities that interest you; if you're school doesn't have something you're interested, see if you can make your own club with your friends
- Try to stay out of drama
- Boyfriends and Girlfriends aren't as important as you may think; stick with your friends for awhile, they tend to last longer
- Look into standard college requirements
- If you didn't do well freshman year, it's not too late to change that
- Prepare yourself for the PSAT or SAT or ACT if you decide to take it
- Volunteer or start working
- Don't forget to get involved in school and outside of school
- Don't be a bully, stop bullying
- Be Drama Free if possible
- Focus on yourself and your grades
- Don't worry too much about what others think but what you think of yourself. Like who you are!
- Start looking into colleges: Take Tours and Figure out what you want in a college
- Look into scholarships and grants
- Apply for colleges: 2 dream, 2 reality, 2 back up is the way to go
- Make the most of the year
- Go to as many school events as possible; dances, sports games, activities, fund raisers, etc
- Talk to old friends, friends you met your freshman or sophomore year but haven't really talked or hung out with
- If you're unsure what to do after high school, talk to your school counselor
- Focus on you and don't feel too pressured
