Makeup Routine

First I would like to say that I am very excited for my cousin CJ and my best friend Mike. Today they become fathers. CJ is now a father to Jordan Chad who was born  at 6:10 am and Mike is now the proud father of Isabella, Izzy for short. I can't wait to meet them both. Now let's get down to my makeup.
When I am not home I love to play up my eyes because growing up I've hidden myself behind my glasses but after watching youtube gurus with makeup ideas for glasses I've decided to experiment.

I missed a Friday for a very good reason. I didn't have internet because I was at a beach house. I spent the day flying kites, walking around on Broadway in Seaside, playing video games at Funland and roasting marshmallows over the beach bon fire.

I'm going on an adventure! Actually my "brothers" and I are going to Seaside to meet up with the rest of my adoptive family at the beach house. They've been there since Monday and we decided to spend the night there and hang out for the day tomorrow. I promised myself to blog Monday-Friday and I have 15 minutes until I'm leaving so I am making this quick
I got packed in 20 minutes and did my nails. I don't know about you but I hate waiting for my nail polish to dry. However I read this trick that if you put your hands under cold water or soak them in an ice bath after doing your nails they will dry fast and it really does work!
So next time you're in a hurry and your nails need polishing, dip them in ice water after applying polish!

Skinny Bitch! Kind of...

I use to struggle with my eating habits. In the fourth grade, I stopped eating breakfast because it made me feel sick in the morning. In the eighth grade, I started to skip lunch or when I did have lunch I had a soft pretzel. I didn't feel comfortable eating in front of other people so I ate at home after school and it was horrible because I pigged out and ate more than I should at dinner. From 7th grade to junior year in high school I maintained the same weight and height; 5'0 and 105lbs. It did not help my self esteem that my friends were stick thin and even though I looked like I was, I didn't feel like I was. I let numbers on a scale control how I felt about my body. I let the mirror trick me into thinking I was fat when I wasn't.

So how did I overcome this? How did I change my eating ways? Like most stories, I met a guy. I meet a lot of guys but this one had the biggest impact on me.

Part of My Life: Dogs

I love dogs. I've never been afraid of dogs no matter how big or how small, I love them. When I was younger, around four or five, I had a Siberian Husky Chow and she was beautiful. Sadly she got hit by a car one morning when she escaped from my grandparent's backyard. I remember when we got the call and my dad told me; I went straight to my bed and cried under the covers.

Years later, when I was ten, we got another dog. We named him Tiger, he's a Bichon Frise mixed with Poodle. Three years later we adopted a little Pomeranian from the Animal Shelter and named her Makeena, Mak for short. 

Too Young For Love?

A couple years ago there was this argument about being too young to love and that age is just a number because you're never too young for love. I understand that; love can be experienced at every age but what is love?
Love is different from being in love. Love is something most of us know from day one. We get that from our parents or anyone who is taking care of us while we're growing up that's how we know what love is. But falling in love, is so much deeper than we're able to understand. "Falling in love doesn't begin with falling in love with others but with yourself. Loving yourself is healthy. Once you learn to love yourself then you know what its like to be in love with someone else." The reason why people say teens are not in love is because most  don't even know how to love themselves. They don't like the way they look, they wish they can be popular, and they're self conscience about what others think rather then what they think of themselves.

A Day at My Home Spa

As a girl, I love being pampered but being in college and on a budget I don't have the money to go to a spa. Instead, I create my own at home spa with the things I have around the house. It's pretty easy; I can make a homemade facial mask and hair mask, do my nails, and take a relaxing bubble bath all in the comfort of my own home. :) Let's get started shall we?

A lot of girls and guys struggle with having confidence in themselves. We care so much about what others think of us but we rarely stop to think what we think about ourselves.  I have learned over the years that loving myself is important. I've taught myself to stop caring what others think of me and focus on thinking more about how I feel about me. One day I was in my mother's bathroom and read this on a Philosophy bottle Falling in Love;

There's this boy, his name is Ryan and we were best friends during the school year. He played guitar and sang like I do, and we got together in the park and played guitar and he sang for me. He is really really cute and pretty much perfect in every way. But then when summer started, he COMPLETELY ignored me. After he literally cried to me when I was the only one that would listen. He completely ignored me, not a word. S, out of anger, I sent him a facebook message that was really mean and using some words that i definitely should not have used. I wish i could take it back so much. Then I deleted him from facebook. After I felt so bad and sent him multiple messages and texts saying it was way out of line and I was sorry, and tried to re-add him on facebook. But he didn't reply, and it's been like a month and he hasn't accepted me so I stopped sending them. I only sent two if you were wondering. Please don't tell me that I messed it up big time, because I know I did. But I can't stop thinking about him. And the worst part is, he doesn't even care. We were so close. I told him everything. I miss him so much. He was the only person I thought I could trust.

Makeup for Teens

Every teen girl struggles with makeup even if they feel like they have a good routine going for them. So here are some of my tips for you.
~ Skip the foundation and go for a tinted moisturizer and/or concealer; foundation is for women in their late 20s and older. Don't cover your natural beauty with foundation!
~Pat, don't rub concealer. Tap, don't blow off excess powder from the brush
~Play up your eyes or your lips; never both.

Last Sunday I went to an awesome concert/performance with three of my good friends; Austin my best friend, Daniel my "brother" and Damian, my brother's cousin making him my "cousin." We went to ISA, International Secret Agents, which was hosted by Kevin Wu (Kevjumba), Ryan Higa (NigaHiga) and Cathy Nguyen (Lilcdawg). Performers included New Height, Victor Kim, I.AM.Me, David Choi, Wong Fu Productions and Far East Movement.
We had so much fun and because Austin is so tall he took so many awesome pictures for me. Let me share with you part of my life.

Friday: Long Distance, Smart Girls, and Kids?

Another Friday with more advice. So the reason why I do this every Friday is because it's the end of the week, and weekends are for me, my family and friends. So I do give three questions for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and hopefully that will hold you all up until I blog again on Monday. Will I continue to do this? I don't know, I'm just seeing how it goes and by October I'll decide if this is what I want to continue to do because I don't start school till late September and I want to see if this will go well when I'm actually in school and not taking online classes. Anyway, let's get this started shall we?

Break Up Blues

Sooner or later we go through a break up; whether we got dumped or we dumped them and either way it takes awhile to get over it and get our groove back. So how do we get over someone we spent so much time with? How do we just let those feelings we once had? To each their own. We have to take one day at a time. Like they say time heals all wounds.

Now we all have our own ways to getting over a break up or getting over someone. Some listen to music, watch sappy movies, eat ice cream or other junk food and just cry. Others go looking for someone else to fill that void. Basically, go from one relationship to the next.

One Fruit Smoothie

On sunny days like today I love making smoothies. Luckily my family keeps frozen fruit in the extra freezer but sadly I'm running out so this weekend I'll be getting more of my favorite frozen fruit mix but for now I'll be using the rest for my favorite fruit smoothie.

Boy Advice: Get Your Flirt On

It seems to me that a lot of girls ask for flirting advice, either in person, texting, over the phone, and Facebook or whatever social network.
The key to flirting is to not think about it. Let it come to you naturally because if force it, you'll end up looking like you're trying too hard and you don't want that. So relax and just have fun with it.
