School Time Organization

Most schools have started and if you have started I apologize that these helpful hints weren't given to you in time. Personally I love going back to school and finding or getting new things to help me get organized or attempt to be organized during the new school year.
In order to help you organize you are going to need a few things
  • Planner
    • Daily
    • Monthly
    • Yearly
  • Tabs/Dividers
    • Homework
    • Classes
  • Binders
  • Folders
    • Homework
    • Projects
    • Returned homework
  • Notebooks
  • Post Its
  • Clips
    • Paperclips
    • Staples/stapler
  • Highlighters
    • Multiple colored
  • Pens
    • Red
    • Black
    • Blue
  • Pencil Case
Those are just some basic things that I'm sure you already have.

A planner is great to have. If you get one with the days, weeks and months then that is a bonus. You can write down assignments or homework for the day; you can write down when a project is due; you can write friends' birthdays and there's always a spot to put the cutie in your class' number when you can't whip out your cell phone ;) With those highlighters and pens you can color code them for notes. I used fine tip sharpies for my notes because they came in different color and helped me but my Chemistry teacher was not very happy when she checked my notes. So make sure its okay with your teachers that you are able to use whatever color pens because some teachers only allow blue or black ink.

When it comes to binders, folders and notebooks, keep them as organized as possible. No loose papers should be your goal when it comes to them. For your binder keep tabs for homework that is given to you and any course outline or papers your teachers hand out in your different classes. If you're a neat freak get paper protectors. Have a notebook or multiple subject notebook for all classes that require notebooks. For the folders, have one at least for homework assignments that are done and ready to be turned in.
A pencil case is very helpful. One you can not only put pencils, pens and highlighters but you can also put hair ties, chapstick, and paperclips. Get a cute one and that everyone will admire and want to see because they can be great icebreakers.
Once you have the things you need and have created a system to help you stay organized, you have to work on time outside of school. Figure what's important and do that first. If you have sports or clubs or activities or work after school then do what you need to do but when you get home that's when you have to balance things around a little.

I'm all for having a quick snack or dinner when you get home; food is important, it keeps you going. So do what you need to do to get you focused when you're back home. Still think about what's important though and try to stick to a certain schedule but if you can't that's okay; don't put pressure on yourself or else everything will become overwhelming. I recommend doing the easy homework first. You'll get it done faster and won't have to worry about it later. Be sure to take at least 15 minute breaks in between subjects. The harder assignments may take a lot of time so just be patient and if you're having trouble call up a friend in the class or talk to the teacher before school the next school day.
You should already know what works and what doesn't work for you when it comes to keeping organized whether you're in high school, middle school or college, you know what works for you. So good luck this year and if you have any organization tips for me leave them in the comments below.

Be Beautiful For You
