Break Up Blues

Sooner or later we go through a break up; whether we got dumped or we dumped them and either way it takes awhile to get over it and get our groove back. So how do we get over someone we spent so much time with? How do we just let those feelings we once had? To each their own. We have to take one day at a time. Like they say time heals all wounds.
Now we all have our own ways to getting over a break up or getting over someone. Some listen to music, watch sappy movies, eat ice cream or other junk food and just cry. Others go looking for someone else to fill that void. Basically, go from one relationship to the next.

I have a lot of guys in my life and I've seen a few try to go from one girl to the next because they just want someone to be with.
A year ago, my close friend and his girlfriend were having trust issues so they took a break and then her sisters convinced her to break it off with him. He was devastated and I tried my best to help him get through it. All he wanted to do was find someone new.
Now I don't know about you but my break up remedy does not say go find someone new right away.
Take time to get back to who you were before you were in a relationship. Take time to be by yourself and make yourself happy. Get your girls together and have some girl time. Your best friends, the ones that care the most, will help you so much. They'll be able to get your mind of things and just remind you that you don't need someone to make you happy; you create your own happiness. Being in a relationship, is just having someone to share that happiness with and create more happy memories.
So when you're going through a break up, cope with it the way you have to but don't take too much time hanging onto the relationship.
When you are ready move on but don't move on too soon or too slowly. Cry a little, watch sad movies, listen to those break up songs, spend time with your friends and then get back on your feet. Do something for you. Get a new haircut, buy yourself a new outfit, and get a manicure or pedicure.

"Moving on is simple, it’s what you leave behind that makes it so difficult." ~Unknown
